Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha State Executive Meeting Focuses on Women’s Safety, Empowerment and Social Welfare
Jaipur: A significant meeting of the State Executive Committee of the Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha was held at the organisation’s state office in Jaipur. The meeting discussed organisational expansion, women’s empowerment, the safety of mothers, sisters and daughters, making women in need self-reliant, encouraging talented members of the community, and the action plan for the coming year. Several important decisions were taken for effective implementation across the state.
During the meeting, State President of the Mahila Prakoshth, Dr. Shail Shastri, and National General Secretary Savita Sharma administered the oath of office and responsibility to the newly appointed members of the state executive committee. The newly appointed office-bearers pledged to work in the interest of society, strengthen the organisation and actively address issues concerning social welfare.
A major decision was taken regarding the safety and self-defence of women and girls from the Brahmin community. It was decided that the Mahasabha would organise a seven-day special arms and self-defence training camp to equip women and young girls with the skills needed for their personal safety. Expert trainers will provide practical self-defence training, enabling participants to face challenging situations with confidence when necessary.
The newly appointed executive committee also resolved that if any mother, sister or daughter from the community faces harassment, abuse or injustice, the Mahasabha will raise its voice against it and stand firmly with the victim and her family. Discussions were also held on preparing an organisational action plan to provide appropriate assistance in such cases.
Dr. Shail Shastri said that in the present times, it is essential for women to be not only educated and self-reliant but also capable of protecting themselves. She said that daughters are excelling in education, administration, business, sports, arts, science and social service, and society must provide them with opportunities to progress while also strengthening their sense of safety and confidence.
National General Secretary Savita Sharma said, “If the dignity of any mother, sister or daughter of our society is threatened, the Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha will stand firmly with her. The dignity and safety of women is not merely a programme or an issue for us, but our social responsibility and commitment.”
The women leaders also said that the Mahasabha would not limit its efforts to self-defence training but would also work towards making women financially self-reliant. Special skill-development classes and training programmes will be organised for women and young girls in need. Efforts will be made to connect them with employment and self-employment opportunities by providing training in various skills according to their interests and abilities.
Dr. Shail Shastri and Savita Sharma appealed to the newly appointed office-bearers to view their positions not merely as honours but as a greater responsibility towards social service. They said the true strength of an organisation becomes meaningful when it supports those in need, promotes talent and raises a strong voice against injustice.
The meeting also discussed the Mahasabha’s action plan for the coming year. It includes the organisation of Sinjara Mahotsav, talent felicitation ceremonies, women’s empowerment programmes, self-defence training camps and skill-development programmes, along with various social and cultural activities.
Special emphasis was also placed on providing a platform to talented members of the community. Plans were made to identify and honour women, youth and talented students who have achieved distinction in education, sports, arts, culture, business, administration, social service and other fields. The office-bearers said the younger generation would be connected with successful achievers from the community and encouraged to move forward.
The state executive committee was also expanded during the meeting, with new office-bearers announced for various positions. All newly appointed members pledged to work according to the organisation’s principles, reach every section of society, expand the organisation and accelerate its service initiatives.
Dr. Shail Shastri said the new executive committee would work towards increasing women’s participation and the social, educational and economic upliftment of the community. Women’s safety and self-reliance would be given special priority, and efforts would be made to connect more women with the organisation through programmes from the state level to the local level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the office-bearers collectively resolved to make social unity, respect for women, the safety of daughters, women’s self-reliance, opportunities for youth, recognition of talent and support for families in need the key priorities of the Mahasabha. The Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha will further expand its campaign of service, values, safety and social empowerment across Rajasthan.
