Jaipur: A special Independence Day celebration was organised at Namdev Bhawan in Mansarovar, Jaipur, where, for the first time in the history of the premises, women members of the community hoisted the National Flag. The ceremony was followed by a grand Maha Aarti of Sant Shiromani Shri Namdev Ji.
After the Independence Day celebrations, the Namdev Bhawan Shilalekh Inauguration Ceremony was held with Anurag Runwal, outgoing National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Namdev Tank Kshatriya Mahasabha, as the chief guest.
As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, a plantation drive was also launched. The organisation also participated actively in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign and organised a Tricolour distribution drive.
During the Shilalekh inauguration, Trust President Mahavir Tailor expressed gratitude to the donors Anil Tank (Retired IGP), Ramkishore Apoorva (National President), Anurag Runwal, Vijay Tolambiya and Shyamsundar Lakhmara. The donors present at the programme were honoured with traditional safas.
Women members were felicitated with mementoes during the “Mahila Shakti Samman Samaroh” by Mahasabha Vice President Aruna Tank. The members of the community present at the event were also welcomed by Trust Secretary Satyanarayan Gadha and Sanjay Didwania with dupattas.
Speakers including Anil Tank, Suresh Batu, Anurag Runwal, Girdharilal Sarva, Mahavir Tailor, Purushottam Sarva and Ram Bidsar stressed the importance of social unity and called for greater participation of youth and women in community organisations.
Mahasabha Vice President Aruna Tank appealed for women to be given a leading role in every organisation. Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the provision of women’s reservation in Parliament, she suggested that 50 per cent representation of women should also be ensured in social organisations in the future.
Her appeal was warmly welcomed by those present, who expressed their support with loud applause.
