Jaipur October 1:The much-anticipated Sumangal Diwali Fair – 2025 was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by Dr. Kirori Lal, Minister of Rural Development, at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Institute, under the aegis of Rajeevika. The fair will run from October 1 to October 12, 2025, offering visitors a vibrant showcase of rural craftsmanship and traditional Rajasthani cuisine.
A key highlight of the event is the 65 handcrafted product stalls and a lavish food court comprising 10 stalls, becoming a major attraction for attendees. Artisans from various districts of Rajasthan have brought their handmade products, giving visitors a unique opportunity to explore authentic, local craftsmanship and delicacies.
In his address, Dr. Kirori Lal emphasized that the fair is not merely a celebration but a powerful platform for rural life, art, culture, and women empowerment. He highlighted Rajasthan’s global recognition for its rich traditions, vibrant colors, and intricate handicrafts. Special attractions include:

The food court is another major attraction, featuring a curated selection of traditional Rajasthani dishes such as dal-baati-choorma, gatte ki sabzi, ker-sangri, bajra and jowar rotis, kadhi-pakodi, ghevar, malpua, feeni, and rabri.
Dr. Kirori Lal praised the fair as a symbol of the skill and self-reliance of women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Through training, financial support, and market linkages, Rajeevika has empowered rural women to become not only the backbone of their families but also key contributors to local economies.
He urged the public to shop extensively at the fair, stating that “each product purchased is not just an item, but a symbol of our rural sisters’ hard work and dreams.”
Concluding his speech, the minister stated that the Sumangal Diwali Fair is a celebration of art, culture, and women empowerment, one that will bring new light and opportunities into the lives of rural women.
The inauguration was also attended by Ms. Neha Giri, State Mission Director of Rajeevika, and Ms. Preeti Singh, Project Director (Administration).
