12th International Seminar on “Ethics, Technology and Justice in a Transforming India” Held in Jaipur

 

Jaipur.The 12th International Seminar on the theme “Ethics, Technology and Justice in a Transforming India” was organized on Monday by Suraj Sansthan in collaboration with Kanoria School of Law for Women, Jaipur, at Rajasthan Adult Education Committee, Jaipur.

The international seminar witnessed participation from academicians, legal experts, researchers, social workers, and professionals from various fields. The event featured detailed discussions on technological advancement, ethical values, and the changing dimensions of the justice system in modern India. Important topics such as Artificial Intelligence, digital justice, cyber laws, human rights, and social transformation were also deliberated upon.

The organizers stated that the objective of the seminar was to establish a balance between education, technology, and justice while strengthening ethical values in society. Various academic sessions, lectures, and research paper presentations were conducted during the event. Around 70 students, teachers, and researchers participated in the seminar.

During the inaugural session, the welcome address and concept note were presented by Dr. Sanjula Thanvi, Head and Dean, Department of Law, University of Rajasthan. Shri Anil Thanvi informed the participants about the establishment, journey, and activities of Suraj Sansthan. Dr. Vartika Arora, Principal of Kanoria School of Law for Women, Jaipur, gave a brief introduction to the institution.

Dr. Idamati Vyas, Chairperson of Suraj Sansthan, was present during the inaugural session. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Vageshwari Deshwal from Delhi University joined the event online and highlighted the importance of AI and digital transactions in the growth of modern startups. Referring to technological developments during the Covid period, she said that balanced growth of technology, law, and ethics is essential to ensure justice.

Keynote speaker Dr. Pooja Saxena, Founder of Global Digital Law Firm and associated with Amity Law School, Dubai, expressed concern over rising cyber crimes and stated that legal professionals must be proficient in both technology and law to tackle digital threats. She also shared information regarding data privacy, cyber forensics, and GDPR courses.

Guest of Honour Dr. Rashmi Chaturvedi, Director of Kanoria School of Law for Women, Jaipur, expressed concern over the digital divide and said that while AI is an effective tool, it cannot surpass the human mind. She emphasized the balanced and wise use of technology.

Special Guest Shri Rajendra Boda, Chairman of Rajasthan Adult Education Committee, Jaipur, said that while technology has connected India, it has also widened the digital gap between the rich and the poor. Referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts, he said that the problem lies not in technology itself but in its misuse, and digital tools should be used for public welfare. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Aniruddhi Thanvi.

The first technical session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) P.P. Mitra, Dean, Vivekananda Global University, while Dr. Pooja Suman, Assistant Professor, Central University of Culture, Jaipur, attended as co-chair. Kumari Khanak Kumawat received the award for Best Presentation during the session.

The second technical session was chaired by Dr. Dinesh Dayma, Senior Assistant Professor, Delhi University, and Dr. Ruchi Joshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Manipal University, Jaipur. The third technical session was chaired by Prof. Mridula Purohit, Dean, Faculty of Science, Vivekananda Global University, along with Pratima Soni, Associate Dean, ICFAI University, Jaipur.

Following the technical sessions, the valedictory session was organized. The program began with lamp lighting and the national song. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vartika Arora.

Chief speaker Dr. Minal Bafna, Vice President, ACT Academy, Tamil Nadu, shared her views on technology and its increasing use, while special guest Dr. Aradhana Parmar, Dean, Research Cell, Maharshi Arvind University, Jaipur, addressed the participants. Advocate Naveen Tiwari presented the final report of the 12th International Seminar.

The concluding session ended with a vote of thanks by Ojas Thanvi. Certificates were distributed to all participants, and the seminar concluded with the National Anthem.
