Jaipur Intellectual Group Hosts Insightful Session on Sindhu Culture

 

Jaipur: The April meeting of the Jaipur Intellectual Group (JIG) was successfully organized today, bringing together members for an engaging and culturally enriching discussion on the theme, “Sindhu Culture: Then and Now.”

The host, Dr. Nirmala Sevanani, warmly welcomed all attendees and introduced the topic. In her address, she elaborated on the origin and evolution of Sindhu culture, highlighting various aspects of the civilization. She explained the lifestyle, living patterns, and food habits of the Sindhu community in a simple yet effective manner, enabling members to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

The special invited guest and keynote speaker, Tripti Pandey, spoke about the historical journey of the Sindhu civilization. She traced the roots of the community and described how it evolved over time, offering an engaging insight into Sindhi traditions, way of life, and cultural richness.

Another keynote speaker, Sapna Mahesh, shared her perspective on women’s empowerment within the Sindhi community. She emphasized the dignity of labor, noting that no work is considered small or insignificant. She highlighted the community’s strong values of hard work and self-reliance, which contribute to their continued progress with self-respect.

Other members also participated actively, sharing their thoughts and experiences, which made the session even more interactive and inspiring.

The program concluded with a delightful spread of traditional dishes, including thadal (thandai)/buttermilk, chotu pakwan dal, corn chaat, sai bhaji with bhugal rice, aloo baingan tuk, tahiri (sweet rice), phirni, and tea with tea cake.

The meeting was widely appreciated for being informative, inspiring, and a celebration of cultural heritage.
