Jaipur. During the summer season, the special sandalwood attire and divine adornment of Thakurji at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Vaishali Nagar have become a major attraction for devotees.
On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the temple administration announced that for the next one month, Thakurji will be decorated with a unique sandalwood paste attire and special floral embellishments. In the Vaishnav tradition, offering sandalwood to the deity during summer is considered a deeply devotional service. Devotees lovingly treat भगवान as a cherished member of their family and offer sandalwood, light garments, and flowers to provide coolness and comfort during the hot season.
According to scriptures, sandalwood symbolizes coolness, purity, gentleness, and devotion. Offering sandalwood to the deity reflects the devotee’s prayer that their mind may also become calm, pure, and fragrant like sandalwood itself.
In the Swaminarayan tradition, seasonal worship holds special significance. During the summer months, the deity is adorned with sandalwood paste, light cotton garments, and floral decorations. This service is regarded not merely as external decoration but as a symbol of living devotion, love, and complete surrender.
The temple administration has invited all devotees to visit and seek blessings through the divine darshan of the sandalwood adornment. Darshan timings will be from 7:30 am to 12:00 noon and from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm daily.
