130 Students Plant 101 Native Saplings at Naka Suraj Pol to Promote Green Environment

Jaipur July 6 : In a significant initiative to promote environmental conservation and increase green cover, 130 students participated in a plantation drive at Naka Suraj Pol, Jaipur, where 101 native saplings of Shisham and Jungle Jalebi were planted.

The plantation campaign was jointly organized by the Rajasthan Forest Department, WWF, Vidyashram School, and Raksha Sanstha. Along with planting saplings, several students also brought seed balls made from seeds of native forest species to support future afforestation efforts.

Rohit Gangwal of Raksha Sanstha appealed to citizens to actively participate in tree plantation and take responsibility for nurturing each tree for at least three years. “There is no greater service to nature today than planting and caring for trees,” he said.

Range Forest Officer Jitendra Singh Shekhawat of the Rajasthan Forest Department said that the current monsoon season is the most suitable time for plantation. He added that the department is encouraging the planting of indigenous tree species across the region to help conserve biodiversity, improve air quality, enhance soil fertility, and create a healthier environment for future generations.
