Jaipur. The Rajasthan International Centre (RIC), Jaipur, came alive with the vibrant cultural confluence of Kashmir and Rajasthan during “O Re Sakhi – An Evening of Music, Storytelling and Shared Heritage of Rajasthan and Kashmir” on Friday evening. Renowned folk-fusion artist Abha Hanjura and her Folk Collective captivated the audience with an enchanting musical performance.
Through music, storytelling and contemporary presentation, Abha Hanjura brought the rich folk traditions of Kashmir and Rajasthan to life. The highlight of the evening was “O Re Sakhi,” a beautiful fusion of Kashmir’s popular folk melody “Bhumbro” and Rajasthan’s traditional “Bannaro” wedding culture. The performance offered a unique artistic expression of the shared cultural heritage, love, celebrations and folk traditions of the two regions.
During the programme, Abha Hanjura performed several popular songs along with a selection of Kashmiri and Rajasthani folk melodies.
