RUWA Organises Proud Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration

Jaipur: The Rajasthan University Women’s Association (RUWA) organised a Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration to pay tribute to the valour and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. The programme featured inspiring addresses by distinguished guests, who urged the younger generation to embrace responsibility, integrity and discipline.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by RUWA President Prof. Amala Batra. In her address, Prof. Batra highlighted the importance of remembering the courage and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War.

Chief Guest Wing Commander Rekha Shekhawat (Retd.) said that the present generation has unprecedented opportunities, but also faces numerous distractions. She urged young people to make the best use of their time, learn from every moment and set long-term goals.

Guest of Honour Wing Commander Robin Sebastian encouraged the audience to view life as a journey rather than merely a pursuit of success. He said mistakes and failures are an integral part of growth and one should learn from them and move forward. “Freedom and responsibility always go together,” he said. He also emphasised that a decision is right if one can look into their mother’s eyes without embarrassment after making it.

Cadets of 1 Raj Air Squadron NCC were also present on the occasion, showcasing discipline and commitment. The presence of Flight Lieutenant Prof. Prerna Puri further inspired the gathering.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Urmil Talwar, who appreciated the contribution of the guests and reiterated RUWA’s commitment to continuously nurturing the values of integrity, discipline and patriotism among students.
