Jaipur. The Deeksharambh (Orientation) Programme 2026 was organised at Kanoria School of Law for Women, Jaipur, on August 8, 2026, to welcome the newly admitted students of the 2026–27 academic session.
The programme was graced by Dr. Sanjula Thanvi, Dean, Faculty of Law and Head, Department of Law, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Mr. Virendra Kumar Verma, RAS, Registrar, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur, as the guests of honour. Dr. Rekha Bhatnagar, Secretary, Kanoria School of Law for Women, was also present on the occasion.
In her welcome address, Principal Dr. Vartika Arora said that the institution aims to nurture a generation of skilled and competent legal professionals who always uphold the values of human dignity, social welfare and justice. She said that every girl possesses talent and potential, but those who move forward with consistent hard work, dedication, discipline and a commitment to excellence can emerge as outstanding legal professionals. She encouraged the students to continuously develop their knowledge and skills and play an active role in promoting justice and positive social change.
College Director Dr. Rashmi Chaturvedi said that “being the voice of the underprivileged is one of the greatest responsibilities of a lawyer.” She appreciated the students and parents for choosing the institution for their legal education and welcomed the new students. Encouraging students to develop a regular reading habit, she said that reading books not only enhances knowledge but also develops logical and critical thinking among law students. She encouraged the students to form a reading club and promote a culture of collective learning and intellectual discussion.
Guest speaker Dr. Sanjula Thanvi said, “A doctor treats the human body, an engineer constructs buildings, but a lawyer protects the structure on which the entire society rests.” She encouraged the students to develop their critical thinking abilities and continuously improve them. She also emphasised the importance of remembering one's duties before one's rights.
Guest Virendra Kumar Verma, RAS, extended a warm welcome to all the newly admitted students. In his inspirational address, he said that difficult circumstances are what make a person great. While a person may remain ordinary in ordinary circumstances, becoming extraordinary requires facing challenges and difficult situations. He said that law is an integral part of our lives and knowledge of the law helps people in every sphere of life. He encouraged the students to focus on their overall personality development and make continuous efforts towards both mental and physical well-being.
Dr. Surbhi Parakh, Assistant Professor, briefed the students about the various clubs, committees and rules functioning at the college.
The programme was compered by college students Niharika Singh Rajawat and Mishti Agrawal. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Purnima Gautam, Assistant Professor.
