Jaipur Rajasthan’s expanding opportunities in solar energy and battery energy storage took centre stage as the Global Solar Expo & SuryaCon Rajasthan 2026 commenced at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) on Friday.

Organised by EQMagPro, the two-day event, being held on September 18 and 19, has brought together solar developers, EPC companies, technology providers, investors, utilities, industry representatives and energy experts to discuss the state’s renewable energy potential.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Energy, Government of Rajasthan, Heeralal Nagar, inaugurated the expo. Sandesh Nayak, IAS, Collector, Jaipur; Ajay Shukla, CEO, NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited; Mukesh Baldi, Director Technical, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL); and Manish Gupta, CEO, INA Solar, were among the special guests present at the inaugural session.

The event features the Solar and Energy Storage Exhibition, SuryaCon Rajasthan Conference and Rajasthan Annual Solar Awards. More than 100 brands are showcasing products and technologies covering the solar and energy storage value chain, including solar PV modules, inverters, batteries, mounting structures, energy management systems, cables and other components. More than 5,000 visitors have attended the expo.

Solar Energy and Battery Storage in Focus

The expo and conference are focusing on opportunities in utility-scale solar, rooftop solar, commercial and industrial solar, agricultural applications, captive and group captive projects and open-access renewable energy.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are also a major focus, with industry experts discussing their applications in peak demand management, industrial backup, grid support and integrated solar-plus-storage systems. Discussions are also covering system sizing, safety, performance, financing models and project economics.

SuryaCon Rajasthan Conference

The co-located SuryaCon Rajasthan Conference has brought together policymakers and industry experts to discuss rooftop and utility-scale solar, open access, captive and group captive models, battery storage economics, project financing, energy procurement and the renewable energy supply chain.

Participants also shared perspectives on renewable energy project development in Rajasthan, grid integration, investment opportunities and the evolving business landscape.

Rajasthan Annual Solar Awards

The Rajasthan Annual Solar Awards were also organised as part of the event to recognise organisations, projects and professionals contributing to the state’s solar energy ecosystem. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa attended the awards ceremony.
