Jaipur: A grand celebration was organised at Gupt Vrindavan Dham on Saturday to mark Radhashtami, the sacred appearance day of Sri Radha Rani. A special pandal was decorated at the temple’s Vrindavan Garden, where a grand abhishek of Sri Sri Radha Raman Ji, maha aarti and a special religious discourse were held.
The deity was offered a grand Chhappan Bhog (56 varieties of food), while thousands of devotees from across Jaipur participated in the celebrations. The entire temple complex reverberated with chants of “Hail Radha Rani, Hail Maharani.”
A 12-hour uninterrupted Harinam Sankirtan was also organised on the occasion. Once a year, on Radhashtami, Sri Sri Radha Raman Ji, whose temple is located in the walled city area near Govind Dev Ji Temple, is brought to Gupt Vrindavan Dham for the special celebration.
Temple president Amitasana Das said, “Sri Krishna is all-attractive and attracts everyone towards Him, but Srimati Radharani attracts even Sri Krishna through Her love. Sri Krishna is the Supreme Absolute Truth, and Srimati Radharani is the highest manifestation of His divine pleasure potency. Therefore, in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, the mercy of Radharani holds special significance. Through Her mercy, it becomes easier to take shelter of Lord Sri Krishna.”
