Jaipur, November 1: On the occasion of World Vegan Day, animal rights activists and youth gathered at Patrika Gate in Jaipur to raise awareness about animal exploitation in the dairy, meat and leather industries and protest against the proposed draft rules governing animal testing and experiments.
The protest was organised by the Jaipur Animal Liberation Front (JALF). Activists highlighted the suffering of cows and buffaloes in the dairy industry, particularly reproductive exploitation and the separation of calves from their mothers. They urged people to question the cruelty associated with dairy production and adopt plant-based diets as a compassionate alternative.
Animal rights activist Archit Jain said, “Animals are sentient individuals, not commodities for human consumption or experimental tools. The exploitation of cows and buffaloes in the dairy industry and the suffering of animals in laboratories both deserve serious public attention. We must encourage people to choose plant-based alternatives and demand stronger protection for animals.”
The activists also raised concerns over the proposed draft rules on animal testing, pointing out the risks faced by dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals used in experiments. They emphasised that as science advances towards non-animal research methods, authorities should prioritise humane and scientifically relevant alternatives.
The Jaipur Animal Liberation Front appealed to citizens, students, researchers and animal lovers to submit objections, sign relevant petitions and email the concerned authorities before the November 5, 2026 deadline. The organisation urged the public to oppose the proposed rules and demand stronger legal protection for animals.
Through the initiative, JALF reiterated its commitment to promoting veganism, raising public awareness and advocating for a world free from animal exploitation.
