Jaipur. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Shri Kalpataru Sansthan launched an innovative and inspiring initiative titled “Seed Collection Programme – Aam Ke Aam, Guthliyon Ke Daam”, aimed at promoting environmental conservation through a unique waste-to-wealth model.
The campaign seeks to collect fruit seeds, especially mango kernels, with the support of juice vendors, fruit sellers, hotels and the general public. While millions of seeds are usually discarded as waste, the organization aims to preserve and nurture them into saplings, thereby converting biological waste into green wealth.
Under the initiative, saplings developed from the collected seeds will be distributed free of cost among schools, rural communities, environmental enthusiasts and members of society for plantation activities. The campaign is based on the concept of “Waste to Wealth”, which focuses on transforming organic waste into valuable environmental resources.
Appealing for public participation, Shri Kalpataru Sansthan has urged citizens, volunteers, commercial establishments, juice vendors and social organizations to contribute by collecting fruit seeds and mango kernels instead of throwing them away.
To encourage participation, the organization is working with the slogan “Give Seeds, Get a Sapling”. Anyone donating seeds or mango kernels to the institution is being presented with a free sapling, enabling them to become active participants in the mission of environmental protection.
Noted environmentalist Vishnu Lamba, popularly known as the “Tree Man of India”, said that the “Seed Collection Programme – Aam Ke Aam, Guthliyon Ke Daam” is not merely a campaign but a powerful step towards building a greener India through nature conservation, optimum use of resources and public participation.
Mitbhashi Dal, a volunteer of the women’s wing of Shri Kalpataru Sansthan, said the campaign is being launched simultaneously across different parts of the country and expressed confidence that crores of seeds would be collected this year to promote greenery.
Notably, Shri Kalpataru Sansthan has created a world record by planting and preserving more than 15 million saplings over the last 31 years.
