Two-Day Exhibition Begins in Jaipur; Grand Closing Ceremony on September 20
Jaipur, September 19: Jewellery and fashion enthusiasts in Jaipur thronged the ‘Jashn Wedding and Lifestyle Exhibition’ at Kesari Bagh, Vaishali Nagar, on Saturday, as the two-day event opened with a celebration of Rajasthan’s rich culture, heritage and artistic traditions.
The exhibition, being held on September 19 and 20, was inaugurated on the first day by MP Manju Sharma. Organisers Harshika Ranawat of Jashn and Kalpana Ranawat of Chiriya were also present on the occasion.
The exhibition features an extensive collection of traditional and contemporary products, including gold- and silver-embellished outfits and sarees, wooden handicrafts decorated with intricate silver work, the famous Jodhpuri mojaris, and jewellery featuring authentic Kundan-Meena craftsmanship in gold and silver.
A major highlight of the exhibition is its special focus on Rajasthani culture and heritage, bringing different colours and traditions of the state together under one roof. Visitors can see traditional Rajput artefacts, including daggers and swords displayed in silver-decorated scabbards, renowned Rajasthani handlooms, Rajputi bangles, traditional Mewari wedding turbans and handcrafted pieces such as the gold-worked Turaki langi.
The exhibition also makes a special effort to showcase lesser-known and disappearing art forms, crafts and traditions from different regions of Rajasthan. Along with traditional colours, textiles, handicrafts and artistic expressions, visitors can experience glimpses of traditional Rajasthani bridal attire, centuries-old wedding rituals, festivals and folk traditions.
According to the organisers, ‘Jashn’ offers a glimpse into the beauty of Mewar and the grandeur of Rajput culture. Artisans, designers and artists from different parts of Rajasthan have come together under one roof to present a unique confluence of the state's culture, crafts and wedding traditions.
The two-day exhibition will conclude with a grand closing on September 20.
